Income Generation Programme

Income Generation Programme:

In India, Over the Forty years period 1973-74 to 2012-2013 the poverty ratio has been halved from 55% to 27%. It is obvious that the problem of poverty in India is a major challenge and it needs priority in our development policy if we want to achieve the status of developed nation by 2020 and also to achieve the Ist Goal of Millennium Development Goal fixed by the United Nations Organization.

We are working on reducing the poverty by enabling the poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities resulting in appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis. In order to bring economical empowerment and Income Generation Opportunity for rural people, we have collaborated and associated with the Jharkhand State Horticulture Mission for doing the cultivation and development of Horticultural and Medicinal plants and creation of irrigational resources. Here, we encourage the small and marginal farmers to use their unutilized land and are promoting the cultivation and development of horticultural plants and adopt the work of vegetables cultivation, fruits, spices, flowers, shednet, green house, bee keeping, creation of water resources etc. In this way, rural farmers and their families are becoming economically empowered and coming out of the Below Poverty Line (B.P.L.). Hence, we are contributing little for achieving one of the Millennium Development Goal (M.D.G.) fixed by the United Nations Organization (U.N.O.). With the help of Jharkhand State Horticulture Mission, approximately 2100 households and 10500 individual members have been benefited by our own effort. Now, these families are economically empowered and converted themselves in Above Poverty Line (A.P.L.). In this financial year, our goal is to target 500 households to get them benefited through this programme.

We are also working in the Prototype Programme under Dairy with the collaboration and association of District Welfare Office, Palamu for bringing the Income Generation opportunities for Tribal people through Dairy by encouraging, motivating, training, capacity building of Tribal people.
